The Department of Earth and Chemical Sciences offers majors across a wide range of scientific inquiry that provide a solid foundation for today’s scientific careers. Our programs build on over a half-century of excellence. We offer majors in biochemistry, chemistry, environmental sciences (with environmental or marine concentrations), environmental studies and earth sciences (for secondary educators). At Rider, Broncs are green. With a pledge to become carbon neutral by 2050, our commitment to sustainability is part of the fabric of the University. In addition, we offer a sustainability studies minor program that explores the social, scientific, economic aspects to equip students to take on this increasingly pressing challenge.
