Program overview

Chemistry students at Rider have challenging and engaging experiences in the five areas of chemistry: analytical, inorganic, organic, physical chemistry and biochemistry. Learn in a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student, faculty collaboration and hands-on learning starting your first-year. Students are offered abundant research opportunities both during the academic year and during the summer months.

Program requirements

Chemistry students have the flexibility to customize their educational experience. Select from our bachelor of arts (B.A.) or our more intensive bachelor of science (B.S.) program.

Students in the B.A. program have the opportunity to pursue a dual major in business, education or other areas of interest.

Our B.S. program is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and students who graduate with this degree will be certified and recognized by the ACS.

Take matter into your own hands

Understand the nature of science and the scientific method with Rider’s abundant opportunities for research. Take on hands-on learning outside the classroom through lab and fieldwork and uncover new discoveries by completing research projects alongside our leading faculty.
