Personal Computers
While the University provides public access computers, most students choose to bring a personal computer to campus or use their own computer from home. If you are using your personal computer for your academic work, it should meet or exceed technical standards set by the Office of Information Technologies in order to access technology services. Computers that do not meet minimum standards (PDF), may have limited or no ability to access technology services.
Students enrolled in the Norm Brodsky College of Business Accounting or Information Systems degree programs are required to have a laptop computer in order to complete specific course requirements.
Educational Discounts
All Rider students, faculty, and staff are eligible to purchase computer equipment with educational discounts from the manufacturers. You may be required to submit a copy of your Rider ID or letter of acceptance.
The Office of Information Technologies provides support for University owned equipment. For personal equipment a multi-year maintenance warranty, purchased from the manufacturer, is suggested.
