Program overview

Study in one of only two New Jersey schools with dual AACSB accreditation in business and accounting and fast-track your career with Rider’s Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program. Choose from five concentrations or select a variety of different electives.  Rider's curriculum has a practical focus on technology, and its impact on accounting, to equip graduates with the business analytics and communication skills necessary to succeed. Our courses are also updated regularly to align with the CPA exam content to ensure you're well-prepared. International students who graduate from Rider’s program with a concentration in business analytics may be eligible for a STEM OPT Extension to extend their post-completion OPT (optional practical training) authorization. The MAcc program is also offered fully online.

Choose your concentration

During your time at Rider, you will have a dedicated academic advisor who will help you select the electives that will match your career aspirations. You may choose to complete a concentration or certificate to supplement your accounting knowledge. Concentrations are comprised of three-course elective (nine credit hours) sequences selected from a menu of electives by either the functional area or interdisciplinary area. With just one additional course, you can add a certificate in business analytics, sport management or forensic accounting to your degree. 

Focus on business analytics

With this STEM-designated concentration you will maximize your knowledge of data to analyze business functions and optimize operations. You’ll learn valuable skills that will help you across all aspects of business including marketing, supply chain, operations, finance and accounting. Courses include Visual Analytics, Sport Analytics and Data-Driven Strategies for Business. A Business Analytics Certificate is also available.

Program requirements

Our program focuses on distinct and consistent advanced business knowledge and provides the skill structure you need to succeed. The program fulfills the 150 credit-hour requirement for CPA licensure.

Connections to industry

As a graduate of Rider's industry-aligned program, you'll demonstrate the technical competencies and interpersonal skills valued by leading firms and will be prepared for the CPA or other accounting licensure or certificate exams.

Rider has relationships with all Big 4 accounting firms as well as national and regional firms. Rider graduates land jobs at Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC and other leading organizations.
