At Rider, we'll work with you to transfer the maximum amount of credits possible. Many of our programs allow up to 90 transfer credits combined from two-year and four-year institutions. Students with only two-year credits are capped between 60-72 credits.

In general, for any class to be eligible for transfer the course must meet the following conditions:
- A grade of a “C” or higher is earned
- The course was completed at an accredited institution
- The course is 100 level or higher*
- The Dean’s Office in each school has final approval of transfer credit
- If you attend a community college in New Jersey, you can also review credit transfer information at the NJ Transfer site.
*Remedial and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are not transferable

Non-traditional Credits
You must consult with an advisor to discuss the transferability of your non-traditional credits. Rider accepts the following non-traditional credits:
- College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credits
- Advanced Placement credits (up to 9 credits)
- Formal military credits which meet Rider standards and procedures
- DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST) which meet credit recommendations established by the American Council on Education
- NYU Foreign Language Exam
- Validation or assessment of specific courses approved by a Rider faculty member.
