Professional certifications
- The dance/movement therapy concentration within our Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is approved by the American Dance Therapy Association. Students enrolled in this concentration meet educational requirements for the Registered Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT).
-
Clinical mental health counseling students not enrolled in the dance/movement therapy concentration may gear their elective choices so they also complete academic requirements for the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS).* Students interested in the ACS should take COUN 660 Counseling Supervision: Issues, Concepts, and Methods.
With some additional coursework (beyond the required credits for the MA degree), students may also complete educational requirements for a NJ-specific certificate, the Student Assistance Coordinator Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (SAC CEAS). Please see the catalog for course requirements.
*Students in the clinical mental health counseling program with a dance/movement therapy concentration do not have electives and would also need additional coursework for the academic requirements for the ACS.
