FWS Off Campus Positions
Rider University has partnered with several off-campus non-profit organizations to help increase the amount of Federal Work Study positions and provide more opportunities to you! These partner non-profit organizations provide you with high quality positions that will help you develop professional skills and build your resume. These Federal Work Study positions are an opportunity to work at local non-profits while being paid through your work study award.
The organization is responsible for monitoring student employees' time and approving timesheets to be submitted to Rider University’s Student Employment Coordinator. While you are being supervised by the non-profit org, you will be paid through Rider University's payroll process. Though this position is off-campus, located in the neighboring communities, you will still be considered a Rider Employee and be expected to follow and abide by Rider Student Employee policies.

For off-campus organizations interested in partnering with Rider University to employ Federal Work Study students in Community Service Positions:
Organizations must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a non-profit organization
- Must be located in neighboring community, within a close proximity to Rider's campus
- Must be open to community, accessible to community, and used by the community
- Must designed to improve quality of life for community residents, low-income individuals, or solve a particular problem related to their needs.
- Examples of eligible fields that would meet this requirement: health care, child care, literacy training, education, social services, housing, public safety, recreation, community improvement, transportation, and much more!
Not considered public interest:
- Primarily benefits members of an org with membership limits (not open to the community)
- Partisan or nonpartisan political activity
- Association with a faction in an election
- Work for an elected official
- Political aid for an elected official
- Political affiliation is a hiring factor including lobbying
