High school students and undergraduate transfer applicants can compete for up to $3,000 in cash prizes and for full-tuition scholarships to Westminster Choir College
The David Dubois Organ Competition was established in 2023 to encourage the playing of the organ by students at the high school level. The competition will take place in Gill Memorial Chapel on the Rider University campus in Lawrenceville, NJ, on the 1969 Casavant Frères organ (organ specifications). Also, enjoy a complimentary lesson with one of our organ faculty members and special guest judge, Nathaniel Gumbs, Director of Chapel Music at Yale University.

Eligibility
The competition is open to current high school students who have been studying the organ for at least one year, as well as to students currently engaged in undergraduate organ study.
Requirements
- Entrants must appear in-person on January 25, 2025.
- Entrants will play one piece by J.S. Bach (or a contemporary), and one other piece from the 19th-21st Century.
- High school seniors and undergraduate must also apply for admission to Westminster Choir College of Rider University in the Bachelor of Arts in Music (Organ Primary) degree program, or the Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Organ Primary) degree program.
Prizes
- Faculty judges will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners to be awarded cash prizes of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 respectively.
- • Scholarships for full-time study at Westminster Choir College in one of the two undergraduate programs listed above will also be awarded to qualified high school seniors and undergraduate transfer applicants during the competition, including renewable full-tuition scholarships valued at up to $150,800.
