Suzuki Piano and Violin Programs
Age 3 years and above (violin), Age 4 years and above (piano)
The Suzuki method stresses the development of ability through the “mother tongue” approach, learning in a positive environment through listening and response. It is a teaching method which encourages student, teacher, and parent interaction, and includes a weekly private lesson and a group class with a teacher providing an excellent performance model and deep knowledge and understanding of the Suzuki Method and other early childhood and traditional teaching styles. Repetition and review of previously learned material stir desire toward excellence. During the private lessons, progress is made from skill to skill so students develop the habits of good posture and the ability to listen before students can understand written music. The group classes teach performance readiness and basic music reading concepts as well as providing a social atmosphere of support for students.
Please Note: Students are required to enroll in both private and group lessons, unless otherwise approved by the faculty member. The group and private lessons are billed separately.
