Overview of Greek Housing
Rider University offers five on-campus housing facilities specifically designated for members of the Greek community. These houses are located on Sorority and Fraternity Rows, near Centennial Lake. They provide students with a unique opportunity to balance additional freedoms with responsibilities, fostering a supportive group-living environment.
Housing Privileges
Greek housing is available through designated spaces or entire freestanding houses. All facilities adhere to the Student Code of Social Conduct to maintain a safe and inclusive environment. Each chapter with a facility is required to meet specific minimum occupancy levels and other regulations.
Students who join a fraternity or sorority with an on-campus facility are required to live in the house if space is available.
Rider University does not recognize any fraternity or sorority that operates an official off-campus residential house.
Support Staff for Greek Housing
Each house has a live-in graduate Community Director and an undergraduate Community Assistant. Both act as liaisons between the offices of Residence Life, Facilities Management, Public Safety, and Fraternity and Sorority Life to ensure house operations run smoothly. The CD and CA staff members provide residents with information regarding fire safety, occupancy, facilities issues, and works with the University to provide the best environment possible for their organizations. They also organize programs, oversee room selection, schedule home improvement days, and are the key link for house operations.
Greek housing selection process:
The Greek Housing selection process is an in-person process where the Residence Life and Fraternity and Sorority Life teams will meet with the leadership of all Greek organizations to make it easy for students to select their rooms and housing accommodations for next year.
Organizations will be required to submit a list of members and their housing assignment locations in accordance with the Returning Student Housing Process. Please visit the housing process page for more information on important dates. All students must pay the housing deposit before they can submit a housing application or request for specialty housing.
