Residence Hall Association (RHA)
RHA Mission Statement
The Residence Hall Association of Rider University shall act as the community government for and within each residence hall. RHA will promote a healthy, clean, and safe environment where athletic, cultural, social, and intellectual development can occur for all students, regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, national origin, religion or political affiliation. In doing so, the Residence Hall Association shall represent and advocate for the rights and well being of all resident students, provide programming that will engage and benefit all resident students, and strive to build a greater sense of community among all residents at Rider University.
Membership
All enrolled, full-time undergraduate students residing in a Rider University residence hall shall be members of the Residence Hall Association. As members, students have the ability to vote in Resident Hall elections and appear at hall government meetings.
Structure
The Residence Hall Association shall be a subordinate government of the Student Government Association (SGA) and shall consist of the elected Executive Board and General Council. In addition to these two main branches, the Residence Hall Association will also consist of individual Hall Councils.
Executive Board Positions and General Council
The President, Vice President, Director of Programming, Secretary, Chief Financial Officer and Public Relations Chair shall be recognized as the executive branch of the Residence Hall Association. Each residence hall will have 3 representatives that advocate on behalf of their respective buildings while also providing educational and interactive programming for the residents.
