Mission Statement
The Office of Student Involvement believes in the benefits of shared fraternal values. Our Greek community is dedicated to providing a safe, vibrant, inclusive environment to empower organizations and individuals to assist in the development of social, moral, civic, and intellectual growth.
We foster lifelong relationships between organization, alumni, national partners, and the local community to make an impact beyond just our Campus. Committed to the lifelong development of members we teach leadership and transferable skills, provide direction to achieve high standards, enhance the academic experience, and pledge to the betterment of Rider University and our organizations.
Programs and Services
The Office of Student Involvement works with our organizations to provide social, service, leadership, and educational programs to aid in the personal development of students who join fraternities and sororities.
Standards and Expectations
Beginning in 2008, fraternities and sororities have been evaluated annually with regard to a comprehensive set of behavioral and performance expectations that resonate with Rider University’s values, its Strategic Plan and recommendations from the Presidential Task Force on Alcohol, Personal Responsibility, and Student Life. Expectations fall into six major categories: academic achievement, leadership development, programming, chapter operations, risk management, and housing. Check out our organizations to get information about each chapters status and standards rating.
Chapters that fail to meet the minimum requirements of 75% or higher for two consecutive years will be placed on probation. An organization on probation will be required to meet that minimum threshold and other specific requirements as deemed appropriate by the Office of Student Involvement and First Year Programs. After the probationary period, Chapters that are still unable to meet the minimum 75% requirement may be subject to administrative removal and loss of recognition.

Five-Star Program
Following the full chapter assessment and review through the annual Standards and Expectations Accreditation Program, the Office of Student Involvement will combine all scores to give each chapter an overall rating based upon a Five-Star program. The Five-Star system will be used as a metric to distinguish Rider University Fraternities and Sororities and encourage chapters to go above the standard expectation.
