Program overview

The life and career coaching program prepares students to assist clients in achieving goals in areas such as life transitions, significant relationships, physical health, emotional well-being, career choices and spirituality. Students may choose to pursue a standalone certificate or may earn their M.A. in organizational leadership with a concentration in life and career coaching. The program is designed to meet the educational requirements for certification as a Board Certified Coach through the Center for Credentialing and Education, Inc.

Rider's Life and Career Coaching Certificate program is a Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) registered 1035-BCC training provider. Course(s) are approved as part of 30, 60 and/or 120 hour-curricula for BCC training course(s).

 

 

Find your path

For the certificate, there are three pathways to completion, depending on your educational background.

The certificate program is offered in hybrid (2-course and 3-course pathways) and 100% online (1-course pathway) formats.

Required coursework

  • For students who hold a master’s degree in counseling or a doctoral degree in a social or behavioral science (e.g. social work, education, health, or business), ONE COURSE is required.
  • For students who hold a master’s degree in a social or behavioral science other than counseling (e.g. social work, education, health, or business), TWO COURSES are required.
  • For students who hold a bachelor’s degree or a graduate degree in a field outside of social or behavioral science (e.g. mathematics, biology), THREE COURSES are required.

Students can earn a master's degree or graduate certificate. The Life and Career Coaching certificate program at Rider University is designed to meet the educational requirements for certification as a Board Certified Coach through the Center for Credentialing and Education, Inc.
