Tuition and Fees

If you are a US citizen/resident and you are planning to apply for a student loan, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is located on-line and can be accessed at studentaid.gov.

Questions about financial aid may be directed to the Office of Financial Aid at 800-257-9026 or 609-896-5360.

Deferred Payment Plans: Students may subscribe to the deferred payment plan that provides for five equal payments of tuition for the fall and spring semesters. A deferred payment fee is added to the student’s account payable at the time of registration for the deferred payment plan.

Corporate Deferral: If your organization provides tuition reimbursement, you may qualify for Rider’s corporate deferral plan. Click here to learn more.

University Partnerships: If your company is a Rider partner, you may qualify for a discount on your tuition. You can learn more on our University Partnerships page.

Information about account balances and payment options may be directed to the Bursar’s office at 609-896-5360.

A limited number of Graduate Assistantships are available for graduate students. Visit our webpage about graduate assistantship opportunities for more information.

All degree program applicants will be automatically considered for a graduate scholarship. No separate application is required. While the entire application portfolio is considered, a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA is required for optimal consideration and other program restrictions apply. If an applicant is eligible, the scholarship is only awarded at the time of admission and the student must maintain a 3.0 GPA and enroll in a minimum of six credits each semester to maintain the award.

For additional questions contact Amanda Young in the Office of One Stop Services at [email protected].

For most programs, all of the requirements for graduate degrees must be completed within six (6) years of the date of first registration in graduate course work. Students in the MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the Ed.S. in School Psychology programs must complete their requirements in ten (10) years. Students in the MA in Counseling Services program must complete their requirements in eight (8) years. Please contact your academic advisor if you have questions about degree requirements.

A full-time program consists of nine (9) or more semester hours of graduate course work. Part-time is less than nine. Students who are using federal financial aid to finance their academic work must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits each semester. The two summer terms combined count as one semester. semester hours recommended.

  • Official transcripts are required from all colleges and universities attended regardless of the number of credits pursued and whether or not those credits appear on subsequent transcripts. Exceptions to this policy are credits taken during a study abroad or high school experience.
  • Official transcripts must be sent from your institution or through an approved third-party provider e.g. Parchment or the National Clearinghouse. Rider accepts electronic transcripts at [email protected], or via mail at: Rider University Admissions, 2083 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville NJ 08648
  • Rider alumni do not need to request their Rider transcript however, if credits were transferred into Rider, alumni applicants may need to request transcripts from those other colleges and universities. The Office of Graduate Admission will contact applicants upon initial review of the application if additional transcripts are required.
  • Military credits may be submitted for evaluation as part of the application portfolio but are not required.
  • Applicants may submit unofficial transcripts through their Be-a-Bronc dashboard for initial consideration only. Official transcripts will be required for a full offer of admission.

A limited number of transfer credits may be accepted depending on the applicant's program of study and is subject to the approval of the program director. The initial teacher certification programs do not accept transfer credits.

With the exception of dual degree programs, applicants are limited to selecting one academic program.

Requests to audit a graduate-level class are considered on a case-by-case basis. Students approved to audit classes may register during the first week of classes on a space-available basis. Certain classes do not allow non-matriculated or auditing students. Information about cost and fees can be found by visiting our tuition and aid page. Requests to audit undergraduate classes should be directed to [email protected].
