On this website, make the following changes:
- Instead of the link in the menu on the left being titled “State Websites”, title this link Initial Teacher Certification in Other States
- Retitle the page “Obtaining Initial Teacher Certification in Other States”
- Edit the sentence that begins with “Below is a list of State Departments of Education with which New Jersey has “full reciprocity” for teacher…” to “Below is a list of State Departments of Education which, according to NASDTEC, offer full-reciprocity for teacher…”
- Just under “Oklahoma” insert the following “In addition to the above states, all but the following three states have signed the NASDTEC interstate agreement which facilitates license reciprocity for member states. NASDTEC does not guarantee full teacher license reciprocity, and some states may impose additional requirements. Although the following states have not signed the NASDTEC agreement, this does not necessarily preclude them from accepting licenses from other states (Note: States marked with an asterisk have program graduates working as licensed teachers; however, students are advised to check with each state as to specific requirements):
New Mexico, *New York, South Dakota - Delete “Other State Departments of Education in the NASDTEC may choose to have additional requirements for educators seeking certification in their state.” from the next paragraph. Then keep the rest of the page as is except:
- Retitle “Other Resources” at the bottom of this page as “Other Out-of-State Certification Resources” and add links at the bottom for all of the other credentials in this document.
- At the bottom of the page, put the date it was updated (updated: June XX, 2024)
