Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) is the honor society of the counseling profession. CSI has initiated over 72,000 professionals and professionals-in-training worldwide, and currently has over 13,000 active members among over 272 campus based chapters in this country and abroad. The local chapter of CSI at Rider University is Rho Upsilon Beta. This chapter exists to promote excellence in counseling and recognize the outstanding academic achievements of our graduate students in the Counseling Services program.
Rho Upsilon Beta
The Rider University chapter of Chi Sigma Iota is Rho Upsilon Beta. Established in 2011, this chapter has over 60 members and is a student-run organization. The purpose of the organization is to promote excellence in counseling and recognize the outstanding achievements of our graduate students in the Counseling Services program.
Members of Rho Upsilon Beta use this organization as a channel for providing professional development workshops for all counseling students, social events, service opportunities, and fundraising events to support students' travel to professional conferences.
All students in the Rider University Counseling Services program who meet the following criteria are eligible to join:
- Those students who are enrolled in counselor education programs leading to graduate degrees
- They shall have completed the equivalent of at least one full academic term (semester or quarter) of counseling courses carrying approved graduate credit as defined by the institution
- They must have maintained an overall scholastic grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 system), or the equivalent, while enrolled in the program
- Has met standards for professionalism as determined by program faculty
