Program requirements
This dual degree program provides students the training necessary to become a certified music educator, and challenges students with rigorous and thought-provoking graduate studies.
Graduates earn New Jersey certification to teach vocal instrumental and general music at all levels. Undergraduate coursework includes elementary and secondary general music education, choral music education, instrumental studies, music technology and creativity. Graduate coursework in topics such as curricular design, critical pedagogy, and research, prepares students to bring about positive change in their classroom and school communities.
