About the Maurice E. Palmer Scholarship
The Maurice E. Palmer Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Maurice Palmer, former Associate Director of Admission who passed away at an early age after a long career at Rider University.
Award Amount: $2,500
GPA to maintain: 2.5
Scholarship is renewable for four consecutive years of full-time undergraduate study as long as a student maintains a 2.5 GPA.
This scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving EOP student participating in the Summer Institute Academy. The EOP committee will begin reviewing applicants at the beginning of the Summer Institute Academy; you will be notified if you are a finalist for the scholarship towards the end of the Summer Institute Academy.
The student should demonstrate leadership skills, a commitment and loyalty to working with others and the ability to contribute to Rider University and make it a better place just as Maurice did. The applicant's potential to contribute to the University could be measured by involvement in student organizations demonstrated through his or her activities in high school. The recipient of the award should be reflective of Maurice Palmer and his character and commitment to others.
How to Apply
Qualifications:
- Minimum grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Demonstrate leadership skills, commitment and loyalty to working with others
- The ability to contribute to Rider University and make it a better place, just as Maurice did. This can be measured by involvement in student organizations and other activities in their high school.
Students applying to the University as test-optional may still apply for EOP.
Candidates will be selected from the accepted EOP pool by the scholarship committee. Those selected may be interviewed during the Summer Institute Academy.
