Updated 4:30 p.m.
Dear Students,
We continue to make progress on repairs related to the power outage. While the work is not yet complete, we are optimistic that power can be restored later this evening.
However, since restoration is not guaranteed, we encourage you to prepare for the evening in case the power remains out.
Please consider the following options:
- Return home or arrange alternative accommodations with friends or family in the area.
- If you are unable to leave campus, Dalys Dining Hall will remain open for residential students throughout the night. Additionally, a quiet study space will be available in the Mercer Room, located adjacent to Dalys.
- If you choose to stay in your residence hall, be aware that only limited power and emergency lighting will be available.
Important Information Regarding Residence Halls:
Residence halls without heat this evening if power is not restored:
Hill Pods, Ziegler Pods, Switlik, Wright, Conover, Gee, Olson, Kroner, Longstreet House, Lincoln, Hank and Bonnie Moore Hall.
Residence halls with heat this evening regardless of power restoration:
Hill, Ziegler, Phi Sigma Sigma House 3, Zeta Tau Alpha House 7, Alpha Xi Delta House 8, Delta Phi Epsilon House 10, Poyda, Lake House, University House, Beckett A & B.
We are actively exploring additional on-campus accommodations for residential students this evening, beyond Daly Dining Hall. Further details will be shared shortly.
We encourage everyone to prioritize their safety and comfort and make arrangements accordingly.
We will provide another update regarding the power restoration status at approximately 5:30 p.m. A decision regarding tomorrow’s final exams and campus office operations will be announced by 8 p.m.
We understand this situation may cause inconvenience, and we are working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
