Committee to recommend candidates to the Board of Trustees
Rider University has assembled a committee to lead the process of evaluating and recommending candidates for the institution’s eighth president in partnership with the search firm Storbeck Search. Members of the Presidential Search Committee will review CVs, screen and interview candidates, maintain confidentiality, and ultimately recommend a final short list of candidates to the Board of Trustees.
The committee members represent a diverse group of stakeholders — faculty, staff, students, alumni and trustees — ensuring that the process is inclusive, thorough and aligned with the University's mission. They include:
- Joe McDougall ’93, Trustee & Presidential Search Committee Chair
- Nicholas Barbati, ’07, ’12, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
- James Bush ’80, Trustee
- Christopher Carothers ’91, ’94, Trustee
- Quinn Cunningham, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Management
- Gene Kutcher, Ph.D., Dean, Norm Brodsky College of Business
- Joan Mazzotti ’72, Trustee & Board Chair
- Thomas Mulhare ’70, Trustee
- Christina Natoli, Class of 2025 & President of the Student Government Association (SGA)
- Michele Powers ’84, Trustee
- Anne Rees, Administrative Specialist of Graduate Education, Leadership & Counseling
- Wright Seneres ’97, Trustee
- Alison Thomas-Cottingham, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Psychology
“The work ahead is significant and will require countless hours on Zoom and in in-person meetings,” says McDougall. “Please join me in thanking them all in advance for their commitment to Rider and this important process.”
Storbeck Search has begun marketing the position and the committee will review candidates beginning in December. A presidential search website will be launched soon to provide more information for both internal and external audiences.
Rider University began the search for its next president upon the announcement of current President Gregory G. Dell’Omo’s retirement on July 31, 2025.
