Recognizing Rider's Trustee Scholarship recipients.
Each year, Rider University awards ten full tuition scholarships to members of the entering freshmen class and three full tuition scholarships to entering transfer students. These scholarships are known as the Trustee Scholarship. To be eligible for these scholarships, high school students must have earned a GPA of 3.7 and an SAT score of 1340 or ACT score of 29. (Test optional students are required to have a 3.8 GPA.) Transfer students must have earned an Associates degree from a Community College with a GPA of 3.5 from all colleges attended and must be an active member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. The scholarships cover full tuition for four years (eight semesters) of full-time, continuous undergraduate study (entering freshmen) or two years (four semesters) of full-time, continuous undergraduate study (transfer students).
Entering freshman students who receive the Trustee Scholarship must maintain a minimum accumulative GPA of 3.5 and are required to participate in either the Baccalaureate Honors Program or the Business Honors program for all four years, completing an honors thesis in their final semester. Additionally, students are expected to serve in leadership positions on campus, earning Engaged Learning points in the leadership category. Entering transfer students who receive the Trustee Scholarship are required to maintain a minimum accumulative GPA of 3.5 and are strongly encouraged to participate in as many honors courses as their schedule allows.
Trustee Scholars are intellectual ambassadors on campus and participate in the Trustee Scholars Interview Day, co-facilitating group interviews/discussions and interacting with prospective scholars throughout the interview process.. Additionally, they are frequently invited to meet with the members of the Board of Trustees, the President of the University and the Provost, and are extremely active students on campus, frequently holding leadership positions in student organizations and clubs.
It is my pleasure to introduce the current cohorts of Trustee Scholars:
