Topics included the need for increased funding of Pell Grants and COVID relief for colleges and universities in New Jersey
Rider University President Gregory G. Dell'Omo, Ph.D., attended the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) Annual Meeting & Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 8. The event is the premiere opportunity for presidents and other senior higher education leaders to learn about the pressing policy issues affecting private, nonprofit higher education.
Dell'Omo met with several members of Congress, such as Sen. Cory Booker, Sen. Robert Menendez, Rep. Andy Kim and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, while advocating for increased funding of Pell Grants and COVID relief for colleges and universities in New Jersey.
Dell'Omo currently serves on both the NAICU board and the executive committee of Independent Colleges and Universities of New Jersey (ICUNJ), where he is vice chair.
