Biography
Dr. King specializes in Counseling Psychology with a focus on health disparities, multiculturalism, social justice, and therapy process and outcome. Her research examines how different sociocultural factors, such as racism and sexism, gender norms, and social networks, influence young adult women’s mental and physical health. She is also really interested in activism and White therapist’s racial identity development. She brings her years of therapy experience into her classroom assignments and discussions. Her clinical specialties include: disordered eating and body image concerns, depression, relationship difficulties, family-of-origin conflicts, and identity.
