Questions? We’ve got answers.
Why is college so expensive?
Everyone has anxiety when it comes to the cost of college, but it doesn’t have to be that way. At Rider, we believe you deserve an unrivaled education for a price that won’t limit what’s possible after graduation. Plus, financial aid offers and scholarships ensure a Rider education is much more affordable. Students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when they apply.
What percentage of Rider students receive financial aid?
Ninety-nine percent of students receive Rider-funded scholarships and financial aid. You will know your entire financial picture before you even start your first class. Your personal financial aid advisor will help build a customized, four-year plan that jives with exactly your financial needs.
Will my family be able to afford Rider?
Whether you have significant or minimal need, our financial aid offers are highly personalized to your specific circumstances. We also invest in your success through generous University-funded and need-based grants. Together, these funds help make Rider’s quality private education affordable and accessible for you.
Can I receive merit scholarships?
Yes. Merit scholarships are annually renewable for up to four consecutive years, provided you maintain continuous, full-time enrollment and the minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) specified in your acceptance letter. Best of all, scholarships and grants do not get repaid.
What about non-Rider scholarships? Will they affect my financial aid?
Many Rider students receive generous scholarships from sources outside of the University. The good news is, your financial aid offer will most likely be the same regardless of your scholarship awards. In the case that you earn enough outside scholarships, your aid from Rider could be reduced to fit within your Cost of Attendance. Either way, your debt will be lower once you graduate.
Does Rider assist me in finding a job on campus?
Rider students and alumni have access to Handshake, an online portal managed by the Offices of One Stop Services and Career Development and Success, where you can view and apply for undergraduate jobs, graduate assistantship positions, internships, full-time jobs and more.
How do I find a job after graduation?
Alumni still have access to Handshake. Plus, with additional resources like our networking platform RiderConnect, individual career counseling and career fairs, you’ll have plenty of help preparing yourself for a rewarding career in your field.
Can I get my federal student loans forgiven?
The new Federal Student Loan Debt Relief program provides eligible borrowers with full or partial discharge of loans up to $20,000 to Federal Pell Grant recipients and up to $10,000 to non-Pell Grant recipients. Apply here
