Largest number of new faculty in at least the past 7 years
This semester, 25 new faculty members joined Rider, in the College of Business Administration, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Human Services, and Westminster College of the Arts.
That total of 25 individuals represents the largest number of new faculty in at least the past seven years. During that time, a total of 93 new faculty have joined Rider.
College of Business Administration
Dr. Morteza Mashayekhi joins the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management as an assistant professor. He holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from the University of Tehran, a master's in business administration from Sharif University of Technology, a master's in management of technology and information from Ryerson University, and a doctorate in business administration.
Dr. Kristin McCarthy is now an assistant professor in the Department of Finance and Economics. She was previously a visiting assistant professor. She earned a bachelor's in international studies and political science from Dickinson College, a Master of Public Health from City University of New York and a Doctor of Public Health from Columbia University. Her research interests include population health, epidemiology, health assessments and outcomes for communities.
Dr. Thomas O'Connor is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Management. He holds a bachelor's in political science, a master's in corporate communication and a doctorate in higher education leadership, all from Seton Hall University.
Charles Ray, Esq., an associate attorney for Kuchinsky and Rotunno, joins the Department of Sport Management and Legal Studies as a lecturer. He earned a bachelor's in sociology from Louisiana State University and his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Dr. Pauline Blaimont joins the Department of Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience & Health Sciences as a lecturer. She received a bachelor's in biology from California State University, Long Beach, and a doctorate from California State University, Santa Cruz. Her dissertation sought to inform whether or not lizards have adaptive potential in the face of climate change.
Dr. Sophie Guderian holds a bachelor's in exercise science and a master's in kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She recently earned her doctorate from the University of Delaware in applied physiology. She joins the Department of Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience & Health Sciences as a lecturer.
Dr. John Guers is an assistant professor in the Department of Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience & Health Sciences. He earned a bachelor's and master's in exercise science from East Stroudsburg University and a doctorate from the University of Delaware in applied physiology. He was also a post-doctoral fellow at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. James Higgins joins the Department of History and Philosophy as a lecturer. His research interests include influenza in North American and European cities. He holds a bachelor's from St. Vincent College, a master's from Duquesne University and a doctorate in history from Lehigh University.
Dr. Hussein Hijazi is a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He earned a master's in physics from Lebanese University and a doctorate in physics from Université de Caen Normandie. He also completed a post-doctoral research position at Rutgers University in the laboratory of surface modification, physics and astronomy department.
Dr. Joanna Kubik holds a bachelor's in psychology from Boston University, a master's in European Studies from Jagiellonian University, a master's in social work and a doctorate from Rutgers University. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology. Her research and teaching interests include juvenile justice, best-practice interventions, youth gangs, mental health and youth recidivism.
Dr. Cynthia Martinez recently earned her doctorate in Hispanic literatures from Indiana University. She also holds a bachelor's in Spanish from Murray State University and a master's in Spanish from the University of Louisville. She joins the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures as an assistant professor.
Dr. Mourya Narasareddygari joins the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as an assistant professor. Narasareddygari earned a bachelor's in computer science from Sri Krishnadevaraya University and a master's and a doctorate in software engineering from North Dakota State University.
Dr. Kerrie Sendall holds a bachelor's and a master's in biology from California State University, San Marcos, and a doctorate in ecology and plant biological sciences from the University of Minnesota and Macquarie University. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Health Sciences.
Dr. Sarah Trocchio joins the Department of Sociology and Criminology as an assistant professor. She earned her bachelor's in global communication and culture from Clark University, a master of social work from Boston University, and a master's and doctorate in criminal justice from Rutgers University.
Dr. Cindy Vieth, previously an adjunct professor since 1999, joins the Department of Communication and Journalism as a lecturer. She holds a bachelor's in communication and a master's in communication and information studies from Rutgers University.
College of Education and Human Services
Dr. Aubrey Daniels joins the Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling as an acting assistant professor. She earned a bachelor's in psychology from Seton Hall University, a master's in counseling and mental health services from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's in professional counseling from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Penn State University.
Dr. Andrea Drewes is an assistant professor in the Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling. She holds a bachelor's in chemistry education from the University of Delaware, a masters in middle/secondary education from Salisbury University, and a master's and a doctorate in education from the University of Delaware.
Dr. Bonnie Lehet joins the Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling as an assistant professor. She earned her bachelor's in computer science from Rutgers University, a master's in mathematics education and a doctorate in education, both from Columbia University Teacher's College.
Dr. Bhesh Mainali is an assistant professor in the Department of Teacher Education. Mainali earned a bachelor's in science and a master's in theoretical mathematics from Tribhuvan University, a master's in mathematics education from the University of Amsterdam and a Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Lori Prol joins the Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling as an assistant professor. She holds a bachelor's in nursing from Pace University, a master's in parent/child nursing from Rutgers University and a doctorate in nursing education from Capella University.
Westminster College of the Arts
Dr. Jay Carter joins the Department of Piano and Voice as an assistant professor. He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and a Master of Music in Early Music, Voice, and Chamber Ensemble from Yale University. He has served for 10 years as artist-in-residence at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo.
Linda Lorence Critelli is an assistant professor in the Department of Fine Arts. Previously, she has taught as an adjunct at Rider University and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She brings to Rider extensive expertise in music publishing, industry relations and trends, artist development, and advocacy. Her elected board positions include the Songwriters Hall of Fame and national trustee and current president of the New York Chapter of the Recording Academy (The Grammy Awards).
William 'Wil' Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in media arts from the University of Arizona and a Master of Fine Arts in integrated electronic arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Since 2008 he has operated his own company, Stray Technologies, which designs and markets D.I.Y game kits, electronics kits including music synthesizers, and alternative computer interface for musicians and performers. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Fine Arts.
Eri Millrod joins the Department of Theatre and Dance as an assistant professor. She is a licensed professional counselor, a licensed creative arts therapist, a board-certified counselor, and a board-certified dance/movement therapist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and dance from Columbia University’s Barnard College and a master's in dance movement analysis and therapy from New York University. Millrod is on track to receive a doctorate in creative arts in therapies from Drexel.
Yoshinori Tanokura holds a master’s in scenography from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and a Master of Fine Arts in set design from the University of Connecticut. He joins the Department of Theatre and Dance as an assistant professor.
