Graduate Scholarships
At the time the admission decision is made, every student pursuing a full-time, in-person graduate program is reviewed automatically for merit scholarships and graduate assistantships. We offer generous scholarship awards that range in amount and are based on audition results and academics. Scholarships are renewable for two years as long as recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA, are enrolled full time, and are in good academic standing.
Graduate Assistantships
Graduate Assistantship Awards are available each year for select incoming graduate students. The graduate assistantships assignments fall into two categories:
- Departmental Assistantships
- Work Study Assistantships
Selection for an assignment will be based on some or all of the following criteria:
- Academic Record
- Audition Results
- Previous Work History
A Graduate Assistantship Award consists of two parts:
Graduate Scholarship (see above) and a Work Study assignment.
The graduate scholarship amount will vary depending on audition results and previous academic records. Scholarships are renewable for two years (4 semesters) as long as recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA, are enrolled in full time study (9 or more credits), and are in good academic standing. The Graduate Scholarship portion of the award is credited each semester to student accounts (half of the total amount each semester).
Work study assignments are made at the discretion of the Graduate Assistantship Award Committee. The Graduate Assistantship/Work Study assignments involve approximately 20 hours per week of service to the college, earnings to be paid directly to the students at an hourly rate. The actual amount of earnings will vary depending on the number of hours worked. Consideration will be given only to full time students accepted into the graduate program. International students must have a minimum of 80 (internet based test) on the TOEFL and a valid Social Security number to be employed on campus. Assistantships are reviewed at the end of the first year and are not renewable after the second year (4th semester).
