Media Labs
The interactive digital media labs feature 38 Macintosh computers with the latest operating system. The computers run industry-standard multimedia software packages, including current versions of Adobe products, DigiDesign, and Microsoft. The labs are also equipped with digital projection systems to demonstrate writing, visual, video, and audio principles and techniques.
All computers in the labs are linked, so that students can produce, store, transfer, and share projects over a sophisticated digital network. The labs combine a professional journalism environment with a media-rich workspace, with students arranged in pods that allow both collaboration and individual work. This sophisticated teaching and learning environment, which in some ways emulates a newsroom, serves the students as they produce professional-quality portfolios and web and multimedia project.
