Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators
The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) requires that all Elementary Education and Secondary Education majors take and pass all sections of the Core Academic Skills for Educators Test (Combined Test Code #5752) prior to beginning the professional sequence of coursework in their education program. As this is a NJDOE requirement, exceptions cannot be made by the Chairperson, Program Director or the Office of the Dean.
Department of Teacher Education: Any student with 54 or more credits who has not passed all three Praxis® Core Tests will be referred to the Academic Standing Committee for dismissal from the Teacher Education program. Please review the Department of Teacher Education handbook for additional information.
Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, & Counseling: Any student planning to enroll in the Alternate Route or Full-Time Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification program must pass all three Praxis® Core Tests (or suitable alternative) as well as the required Subject Assessment exam(s) prior to the start of their program.
