Canvas Workshops
Intro to Canvas 1
This workshop will provide an overview of the Canvas environment, commonly used tools and the key steps that will allow you to quickly build and support engaging courses. You will learn to navigate a Canvas course and global menu, add your syllabus, add content (files, videos, links, etc.) to modules, create assignments and customize menu options.

Intro to Canvas 2
This workshop focuses on how to build online assessment instruments in Canvas using Assignments and New Quizzes. We'll go over how to create, organize and modify assignments and quizzes. We will also discuss rubrics.

Intro to Canvas 3
This workshop introduces instructors to the various features in the Canvas Gradebook they can use to provide feedback and grades to their students. Learn about options to set up and organize the Gradebook, use Speedgrader, Rubrics, how to weight grades, and what all the various settings mean in the Gradebook.

Enhancing Canvas Accessibility with UDOIT
This workshop is specifically designed to introduce users to the UDOIT integration in Canvas. UDOIT (by CidiLabs) is an accessibility scanner that checks Canvas courses for accessibility issues, identifies needs, and provides guidance to improve accessibility with ease.

Instructional Technology Workshops
Universal Access through AI
In this workshop, participants will learn about the ways AI can be used to embed the Universal Design for Learning framework in instruction. The session will give an overview of Universal Design for Learning and provide practical applications of AI to course content planning and design.

Using Zoom to Teach Effectively
This workshop will demonstrate a range of strategies that instructors can use to conduct engaged and dynamic synchronous Zoom class meetings. We will provide information about preparing for your Zoom class, engaging students with chat, screen annotation, polling, non-verbal feedback, and breakout rooms to check quick conceptual understanding and promoting collaboration/small group work.

Creating Engaging Assignments with Kaltura and Annoto
This workshop provides an introduction to Kaltura tools that promote student engagement. Strategies for implementing learning activities that prioritize learner-learner, learner-content, and learner-instructor interactions will be highlighted. Tools that encourage collaboration, participation, and feedback like Video Quizzes, Discussions and Express Capture will be showcased.

DesignPLUS in Canvas
This session will provide an introduction to faculty seeking to elevate their Canvas course design using the DesignPLUS tool. Explore the capabilities of DesignPLUS, learn how to navigate the toolbar, and practice creating an organized and visually engaging student experience in your Canvas course.
