2025 Winter Faculty Writing Retreat: Let’s Get Published!
January 14 and 16, 2025 (Registration full)
Are you working on a book manuscript, article, grant application, dissertation, or other writing project that would benefit from carving out daily writing time? Are you interested in setting daily writing goals and gaining the support of colleagues who are also writing? If so, please consider signing up to participate in our Winter Faculty Writing Retreat to be held January 14 and 16, sponsored by the Teaching and Learning Center. This is a great opportunity for faculty to pursue their scholarly publication goals in a supportive environment focused on accountability.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, participants will work on their own writing or writing-related activities, with an hour for lunch.
Please consider your schedule before registering, a six-hour per day uninterrupted commitment is required for participation in this 2-day retreat. All participants should have a clearly defined writing project related to their scholarship or specific to their work at Rider. Priority will be given to junior faculty wanting to publish for promotion and tenure.
Outcomes of the Program
Each year, multiple participants complete drafts or revisions of works in progress and submit them for publication. Several participants report having had submissions accepted for publication.
This was such a wonderful program. I just wish I'd had a chance to do this early in my career. Do continue to offer these!
The coordinators were fantastic. Wonderful positive energy and excellent organization. The workshop was successful because of them!
