Department overview
Educating the next generation of scientists
Explore and expand your interests in the science of life in Rider’s Department of Biology and Behavioral Neuroscience. Using a research-oriented focus, our broad and dynamic department provides a segue for students to enter careers in the field or to attend medical, professional, or graduate school.
You’ll achieve this by learning in small, intimate classrooms and laboratories that allow direct, hands-on instruction and faculty accessibility. Departmental faculty place emphasis on students engaging in independent research opportunities early in their college career. In fact, every year, 50+ students find themselves performing independent research and working side-by-side with faculty as mentors or colleagues in the lab and the field.
Each student is also assigned a faculty advisor who’ll provide academic advice and career guidance tailored to their individual needs.
