Wright Hall will be closed next year for both the fall 2017 and spring 2018 semesters while Facilities Management makes improvements and upgrades to the residence hall. Although students will not have the option to live in Wright Hall next year, the University has worked to ensure that adequate student housing will be available for all students who wish to live on campus. Staff who have been selected to live and work in Wright Hall will be relocated to other buildings where vacancies currently exist. Specific plans to improve and upgrade Wright Hall have yet to be finalized. “We appreciate the community's cooperation and support as we undertake these important improvements,” says Vice President for Facilities and University Operations Mike Reca.
Last year, Gee Hall closed for the academic year in order for Facilities Management to upgrade the residence hall. Gee Hall will re-open in the fall of 2017 with six completely renovated bathrooms that include new countertops, toilets, partitions, showers, ceramic tile flooring and lighting. The building's hallways and common area received new flooring and paint. The power was upgraded throughout the building, and the number of electrical outlets was increased. Student rooms will receive new flooring, paint and electrical outlets. If you have questions about housing, please contact Director of Housing Roberta Butler at [email protected]. Other questions should be directed to Facilities Management at ext. 5080.
