Program overview

Designed for non-music majors, the music minor provides an opportunity to explore and develop your musical aptitude through courses in music performance, history and theory. Whether you aim to deepen your understanding of music or pursue a career related to it, the music minor offers a comprehensive and enriching educational experience.

Program requirements

The 21-credit music minor includes foundational courses such as Music Historiography I, Music Historiography II, Introduction to Musicianship, Musicianship I, and Musicianship II. Students can also select 3-7 additional electives from Westminster Choir College courses with opportunities to participate in ensembles or take applied lessons for an additional fee. This program is open to all non-music majors at Rider University, offering a flexible pathway to engage with the world of music.
