Semesters of co-ops that led to his full-time offer
Michael took an accounting class in high school and his teacher was an alum from Rider. “They told me how great of a school it was and their experience there.” He decided to look into Rider and instantly fell in love with the business school. “The main reason I chose Rider was because of the amazing faculty, from the first moment I stepped on campus I knew the faculty was there to support my success.” Michael feels that every class he took at Rider was setting him up for success in his career.

Rider's impact on Michael's career
Michael started tutoring accounting on campus at Rider during his sophomore year. During his junior year, he worked in a co-op with Janssen Pharmaceutical Canada where he was responsible for the income statement consolidation process, he streamlined business processes and created reports that impacted business decisions. His co-op was extended and he spent a total of one year there. After that, he had the opportunity to work for Rider’s Career Development and Success Center and with data visualization projects. “Rider has taught me how to work with a team, network, and manage time. These are skills that are invaluable and will be used throughout my personal life and professional life.”
Continued success
Michael graduated from Rider with a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in corporate finance. Currently, Michael supports Johnson and Johnson Consumer in the SG&A Consolidations process and other administration budgets. His role relies heavily on business partnering and data analytics. “The key part of my role is to understand the business at a detailed level and with a broad lens to meet business needs for my business partners and management.” Michael plans on taking his experience in his career and at Rider to eventually follow his passion and start his own company that supports small business owners. The business would “Give me the ability to pay it forward to all the people that helped me get to this point because without a strong team I would have never been able to make it to this point.”
