Concerts in California, Arizona and Nevada
by Anne Sears
The Westminster Concert Bell Choir, conducted by Kathleen Ebling Shaw ’85, will embark on a concert tour of California, Arizona and Nevada May 16 through 24.
With travel and in-person concerts restricted due to Covid-19, this will be the ensemble’s first tour since 2019. The program, titled “All You Need Is Love,” features original works and transcriptions of music with themes of love and peace. It includes Edward Elgar’s Salut d’Amour, Edvard Grieg’s Wedding Day at Troldhaugen, Bart Howard’s Fly Me to the Moon, John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s All You Need Is Love and much more.
Renowned for its musicality and virtuosity, the Westminster Concert Bell Choir rings on the world's largest range of handbells and Choirchime® Instruments. It is composed of students of Westminster Choir College, which was the first institution in the world to develop a handbell program as part of its curriculum, and Rider University.
