Participate in a virtual weekend of celebration, conversation and family fun

In light of social distancing guidelines, Rider’s annual Homecoming & Family Weekend will be virtual this year. Beginning Oct. 30, the Rider community can participate in a weekend of various virtual events designed to celebrate their Bronc pride.
A full schedule of events is available at rider.edu/homecoming. Some highlights from the weekend include:
Rider University’s Frightful Fun Run!
Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, All day
Join fellow Broncs in completing the Homecoming & Family Weekend Frightful Fun Run, a virtual walk/run/bike event that you can participate in from wherever you are. Costumes are encouraged! Post a picture on social media and #RiderHomecoming or #BroncFunRun to share your time and costume. The cost is $25 per person to participate. Sign up now.
A Toast to the Class of 1970 — 50th Reunion
Oct. 30, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Class of 1970, celebrate your milestone reunion with your classmates at a virtual happy hour. Share stories and memories from your time at Rider and catch up with old friends from the comfort of your home. Download a curated list of cocktail recipes to make at home and sip on during our virtual toast.
Motown Comes to Rider
Oct. 30, 7-9 p.m.
This student-moderated conversation will celebrate the legacy of Motown. A distinguished panel of guests will tell their story the way it really happened. They will discuss what it was like to be successful Black writers, artists and executives living in a world where Black people were not welcome to eat, use restrooms or be housed in the same places as white people.
Drag Queen Bingo
Oct. 30, 9 p.m.
Play a bingo game hosted by Alyssa Edwards, former contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Paint, Pumpkin 'n' Sip
Oct. 31, 6-7 p.m.
Pour your cocktails or mocktails and get ready to create a Rider inspired pumpkin. Download Rider pumpkin carving stencils. Post a picture on social media and tag #RiderHomecoming to share your masterpiece.
Virtual Family Feud
Oct. 31, 7-8 p.m.
Create a team of your Rider pals or family members and play one of America’s favorite TV game shows. Groups will guess the most popular answers to survey questions. Register to participate.
A Tribute to Tony Whalen: A Legend and Legacy
Nov. 1, 2-3 p.m.
Join the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon in honoring the life and legacy of Tony Whalen ‘97, who lost his battle with COVID-19 in March. The ceremony will feature a video created by those who knew Tony best, as well as a “Toast to Tony” where members of the Rider community can speak about the impact Tony had on their lives and relive the fun memories they shared with him.
