University waives application and audition fees to ease transition for displaced students
Rider University is implementing a comprehensive plan to aid students from the University of the Arts (UArts), following the Philadelphia college’s recent closure announcement. To ease the transition for displaced students, Rider is waiving application and audition fees, and offering individualized admissions and financial aid counseling.
Please note that, while the University is proud to welcome new students from all disciplines, Rider’s musical theatre program is currently at capacity and unable to accept new applicants.
"We stand with UArts students and their families during this difficult time, and we are dedicated to offering our full support as they consider continuing their educational journey with us,” says Drew Aromando, vice president for Enrollment Management.
Located just 15 miles east of Philadelphia, in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Rider offers a welcoming landing place for UArts students seeking a new academic home.
At Rider’s College of Arts and Sciences, home to Westminster Choir College and the School of Communication, Media, and Performing Arts, students can pursue bachelor of arts programs in acting, dance, music production, and more, along with specialized bachelor of music and bachelor of fine arts programs.
With a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio, the University ensures personalized attention for each student. The 280-acre campus boasts a wealth of resources, including dedicated performance and rehearsal spaces, recording studios and a variety of instruments, all aimed at empowering students to excel in their academic and artistic pursuits.
With over 100 annual student performances and access to six choirs, including the prestigious Grammy Award-winning Westminster Symphonic Choir, Rider offers abundant opportunities for students to showcase their skills and talents both on and off campus.
Established in 1865, Rider has a rich history of academic excellence and is regularly ranked highly by the most prestigious publications. In 2023, Rider rose in all of its rankings on U.S. News & World Report’s list of best regional universities in the north, including its ranking for ‘Best Value Schools.’ Additionally, the University was once again named to The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges list as one of the top 388 colleges and universities in the U.S.
