T. Oliver Reid will help select nominees for Broadway’s biggest honor
Assistant Professor T. Oliver Reid is a new member of the Tony Awards Nominating Committee for the 2024-25 season. Members of the committee serve a three-year term and attend all Broadway productions to determine the year’s Tony Award nominees.
Reid has more than two decades of Broadway experience in 14 productions, recently starring as Hermes in Hadestown and currently serving as associate movement director in Death of a Salesman. His repertoire also includes numerous cabaret performances and notable appearances in television and film. He has been featured on several Grammy Award-winning recordings, and Drop Me Off in Harlem, a show he wrote, directed and starred in, garnered multiple awards.
Offstage, he is a co-founder of the Black Theatre Coalition, a nonprofit organization committed to dismantling systemic racism and bias in the theater industry.
At Rider, Reid serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Performing Arts. This season, he will direct Rider’s production of Into the Woods.
The 78th Annual Tony Awards ceremony will take place on June 8, 2025.
