Dear Rider Community,
The Presidential Search Committee is a critical element in selecting a new University president as it brings together a diverse group of stakeholders — faculty, staff, students, alumni and trustees —ensuring that the process is inclusive, thorough and aligned with the University's mission. Their varied perspectives enable an evaluation process that supports a strong recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
Over the past several weeks, we have met with leaders from across the University to discuss candidates who have the skills, interest and time to actively participate on the Search Committee. Today we are delighted to announce that the following individuals have agreed to participate:
- Joe McDougall ’93, Trustee & Presidential Search Committee Chair
- Joan Mazzotti ’72, Trustee & Board Chair
- James Bush ’80, Trustee
- Michele Powers ’84, Trustee
- Christopher Carothers ’91, ’94, Trustee
- Thomas Mulhare ’70, Trustee
- Wright Seneres ‘97, Trustee
- Gene Kutcher, Ph.D., Dean, Norm Brodsky College of Business
- Nicholas Barbati, ’07, ’12, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
- Quinn Cunningham, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Management
- Alison Thomas-Cottingham, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Psychology
- Anne Rees, Administrative Specialist of Graduate Education, Leadership & Counseling
- Christina Natoli, Class of 2025 & President of the Student Government Association (SGA)
The Search Committee will be charged with working closely with our search consultants to review CVs, screen and interview candidates, maintain confidentiality, and ultimately recommend a final short list of candidates to the Board of Trustees. The work ahead is significant and will require countless hours on Zoom and in in-person meetings. Please join me in thanking them all in advance for their commitment to Rider and this important process.
Storbeck Search has begun to market the presidential position, and the committee will start to review candidates in December. Soon we will be launching a site on rider.edu dedicated to the presidential search, with more information for both internal and external audiences. We look forward to announcing that in the near future.
We will also keep you updated on the committee’s progress. Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Joe McDougall
Chair, Presidential Search Committee
