Wil Lindsay graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2007, with an MFA in Integrated Electronic Arts and a BFA in Media Arts from The University of Arizona. He comes to Rider University from a tenured position in Game Design at Albright College.
His teaching career is complemented by his entrepreneurial work in custom software, electronics and interface design. Through his company StrayTechonologies, he creates custom interfaces for electronic media artists and musicians, including DIY game kits, synthesizer kits and media controllers. His freelance work has included projects for museums, trade shows and promotional events throughout the country.
Lindsay’s teaching is also complemented by his creative performance and exhibition work as a media artist. Under his pseudonym “waitforVBLANK” he has performed at 2600’s H.O.P.E. conferences, BLIP Festivals, the Pulsewave series, the 8Static series and dozens of other venues and events. His interactive exhibition projects “Apophenia,” “Photosemasia” and “Transmissions” have exhibited at venues throughout the East Coast. Lindsay has also been an Artist in Residence at Beta Locale in San Juan, Puerto Rico and The Hacktory in nearby Philadelphia. His open-source projects have led to D.I.Y. workshops, research lectures and artist lectures throughout the region.
