Sandy Olson has been teaching flute at the Conservatory since 1994. She is also director of the Westminster Summer Flute Camp for middle school/high school students, which is now in it’s 15th year. Sandy has held the position of asst. professor of flute at Eastern Illinois University and Millikin University, as well as principal flute of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and Decatur Symphony Orchestra, Sandy was also a founding member of the flute quintet, Wye’s Guys.
Presently she teaches middle school music at Crossroads North Middle School in South Brunswick, New Jersey. Sandy holds a BME degree from Arkansas State University, a MA degree from Western Illinois University and finished her doctoral coursework at the University of Illinois. Her main teachers include Gerald Carey and Geoffrey Gilbert.
