Robin Lewis is a 12- year Broadway and national Broadway touring veteran. His Broadway credits include: Fosse, Beauty and the Beast, A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden and the First National Tour of The Producers. Other national touring includes A Chorus Line, Hello Dolly, Beauty and the Beast and special performances at The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. He was the Dance Captain and original cast member of Charles Busch’s The Green Heart for the Manhattan Theatre Club. He appears on the PBS Dance in America movie Fosse: A Celebration in Dance. Lewis' choreographic work includes the Richard Linklater film BERNIE (2011) starring Shirley MacLaine and Jack Black. Other choreography includes The Music Man with Rebecca Luker, Damn Yankees with Meg Gillentine and Big River with Lawrence Hamilton at Austin's historic Paramount Theater as well as Evita for Oklahoma Lyric Theatre, Casa Manana, Red Mountain Theatre Company and many other regional theaters.
He has choreographed more than 10 productions for Zachary Scott Theatre Center and scores of others regionally, garnering multiple critical awards, including the Kennedy Center/ACTF Excellence In Choreography award. The New York Times cited Lewis' choreography for Porgy and Bess at the Austin Music Hall. Before joining the Rider faculty, he was on faculty and developed the Musical Theater Dance component of the new BFA at Texas State University. . His other teaching/workshop credits include: Broadway Theatre Project, Camp Broadway, Broadway Dreams, Broadway Dance Center, American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive/UT Austin, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Bucks County Playhouse, The Performing Arts Project, US Performing Arts Camp and McCarter Theatre Center in addition to several University programs.
