Melissa Greenberg joined the staff at Rider University in 2008. As the Director of Sustainability, she is responsible for developing and leadership for a coherent, campus wide sustainability program, coordinating academic, facilities and student sustainability activities and assessing cost and carbon reduction impact. She works with various divisions, departments and student groups along with the ESSC to implement projects and plan for the future within the context of the university strategic plan.
Since she started working at Rider, Melissa has been instrumental in starting such programs as electric vehicle charging stations, campus-wide water bottle refill stations with a refill rewards program, the green film and speaker series, food waste diversion through biodigester, student Eco-Reps, self-guided green campus tour and initiating a solar project on the Lawrenceville Campus among other programs and initiatives. Melissa has also been an instrumental part of project teams to certify LEED buildings on campus.
