Kate Miller Chen is an instructor in Westminster Conservatory of Music’s Early Childhood and Voice Departments, and has directed the Choral Readiness program at the Conservatory since 2006. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music from Wellesley College, where she served as the student director of the Wellesley College Madrigals.
Ms. Chen holds Level 1 Kodály certification and is a member of NAfME. She is the Children’s Music Minister at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Prior to coming to the Conservatory, Ms. Chen taught elementary piano and co-directed the World Music Camp, a 2006 recipient of the SWAM grant from Choristers Guild. Ms. Chen also served as publishing administrator for the educational music publisher, Birch Tree Group, Ltd. whose holdings included Summy-Birchard, Inc., along with the Frances Clarke and Suzuki Method teaching materials.
Ms. Chen, a soprano, sings with the ensemble, Zorzal, as well as area churches.
