Jonathan Price
Mr. Price currently serves as a voice teacher and music faculty member at Rider University. He teaches voice for the musical theater program and has taught various classes for the College of Arts and Sciences, including Music Theory, Music History, and Music and Society. Mr. Price also serves as a music theater voice professor at Rowan University. Mr. Price also teaches for the Performer's Career Center in New York City. Current students are performing on Broadway, in National Tours, and with regional theaters across the US and Germany. Mr. Price holds a Master of Music and Performance Studies Certificate in Voice Performance from Boston Conservatory and Bachelor of Music in voice from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
As a performer, tenor Jonathan Price has been praised for his “nuanced” performances and “ringing high notes.” Mr. Price recently returned from Osijek, Croatia, where he received first prize in the Opera category of the Lav Mirski International Singing Competition. His recent operatic performances include Erik in Wagner's Der Fliegender Holländer, Male Chorus in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia, Admeto in Gluck's Alceste, Don José in Bizet's Carmen, and Tamino in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte.
Mr. Price has also performed internationally as a recitalist and concert soloist, performing solo recitals for Mobile Opera, the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, the International Performing Arts Institute in Bavaria, and the Academy of the Arts in Osijek Croatia. Upcoming oratorio performances include Handel's Israel and Egypt, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9.
