Elana Segal specializes in performing and teaching all flutes, clarinets and saxophones, with a focus on classical solo and chamber music. Ms. Segal teaches private lessons and coaches chamber music ensembles to students of all ages. She holds a Master of Music degree in Multiple Woodwind Performance from New Jersey City University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
Ms. Segal’s teaching philosophy focuses on student centered learning, to create fun and engaging lessons with a strong focus on music fundamentals to build confident musicians. Lessons cater to students that need to catch up with their school band program, as well advanced students working on audition and competition preparation. Lesson curriculum includes scales, method books/etudes, standard repertoire, music theory and popular music of interest to each student.
Ms. Segal has taught private music lessons for over ten years. She is a licensed music teacher and has taught in public elementary and middle schools in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties in New Jersey. In addition to teaching, Ms. Segal maintains a busy performance career as an in demand woodwind doubler, performing in local orchestras, symphonic bands and chamber ensembles.
Ms. Segal is a BG France Artist, and is a board member and music librarian for the Old Bridge Symphonic Band.
