Adriatik Sefa began his music career early taking violin lessons at age six in the town of Elbasan, Albania. At the age of twelve, Adriatik performed on the national TV station as a part of the new, upcoming talent. Soon after that, Adriatik was given a full scholarship to study at the Academy of Arts, now the University of Arts in the city of Tirana, Albania. During his studies at the Academy of Arts, Adriatik was invited and selected through a competition to perform with the “Orchestre des Jeunes de la Mediterranee” in Marseille, France for three years. The orchestra performed throughout many countries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Due to his exceptional talent, Adriatik was awarded a membership into the Rhapsody Albanese Orchestra (Tirana, Albania) in 1993. The ensemble won the First Prize in the ProArchi competition in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary. The ensemble recorded a CD in Austria. In 1994, Adriatik received a full scholarship to study at Academia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy with accomplished musicians, such as Boris Belkin and Uto Ughi.
In 1996, Mr. Sefa was awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts in the United States for exceptionally talented artists in Eastern Europe. He received a full scholarship to study at the Eastman School of Music. There Adriatik studied with Oleh Krysa, one of the very prominent pupils of David Oistrach. He received a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music in 2001. In 2003, Mr. Sefa Performed at Carnegie Hall as a part of Fiddle Fest, which included musicians such as, Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, and Yo-Yo Ma. In 2006, he received a Master of Arts in Music Education at New York University, Steinhardt School of Education.
Adriatik is an NYSED SBL (New York State Education Department) certified and teaches at P.S. 65x Mother Hale Academy and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
