University Advancement staff lead the way in Faculty and Staff Giving Challenge

As part of Rider’s Faculty and Staff Giving Challenge, University Advancement has gone All In, achieving a 100% participation rate of giving from its staff members and pledging a total of $10,000 to The Rider Fund over the next two years. The pledge qualifies University Advancement to have a tree named in the division’s honor on campus.

The Rider Fund provides scholarship and program support for students and is one area of the University, among others, that can be supported with a gift during the Faculty and Staff Giving Challenge. Any individual or group that makes a $10,000 or more pledge to the fund can have a tree planted on campus in recognition of that gift and be acknowledged on a commemorative marker.

The nine-week Challenge called “All In” began Feb. 4. Employees wishing to participate in the Faculty and Staff Giving Challenge can make a gift to The Rider Fund or other suggested funds or to any scholarship or area of the University through April 8.

“Just as important as the amount of support raised by the Giving Challenge is the overall participation by our University community,” says Donna Green, senior director of development. “Each gift, whether $5 or $50, is truly significant and is a point of pride for the University.”

Employees who make a contribution of any amount will receive an All In pin and possibly a visit from AJ, the University mascot. Once the Challenge concludes, the division with the highest participation will receive an assortment of treats from The Gingered Peach, a local bakery. (Because University Advancement is organizing the Challenge, it will not be eligible to receive the treat assortment.)

“We hope the commitment our office has shown with our pledge will encourage others to demonstrate their support of Rider students by going All In too,” Green says. “Please consider joining your colleagues in making a gift to a department or cause at the University that you are most passionate about.”

For faculty and staff who have already given this fiscal year, which runs July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020, those gifts will count toward the participation total.
