Dr. Bill Amadio (Information Systems and Supply Chain Management) and Jon Mills ’85, Vice President of Oracle Corporation, developed and introduced a business analytics business case for MBA and MAcc students who were enrolled in Dr. Amadio's data mining course. This case was based on a recent business situation with one of Oracle’s clients (with permission) and required the data mining techniques and tools presented in the course.
Dr. Sharon Sherman, Dean of the School of Education, was elected president of the NJ Association of Colleges for Teacher Education for a two-year term.
Dr. Eric Hung (Music Composition, History and Theory) gave conference presentations at the Society for American Music, Asians in the Americas, and the Association of Asian American Studies.
Drs. Amanda Quist and James Jordan (Conducting) were among the headliners and presented lecture/demonstrations at the national convention of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in Salt Lake City this past February. ACDA is the professional organization for conductors and attracts students and professionals from all over the globe. Additionally, three current students and recent alumni were national finalists in the ACDA National Undergraduate Choral Competition, including Anthony Madonna ’15 (Music Education) who was the second place winner.

Tina DeMara’14 (EMBA) won the New Jersey Collegiate Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the development and her leadership of the Sheltered Yoga Organization, which is a 501c3 non-for-profit organization that brings a “Can Do” attitude to people in need.
MBA students Briana Wallace ’14, Sarah Ni ’14, Jingru Wi ’15, and Amber Kopp ’15 placed first in the Small Business Institute Consulting Project of the year graduate competition. This is the second year in a row that a Rider University team placed first.
An undergraduate team of consultants including Kelsey Armstrong ’14(Advertising, Entrepreneurial Studies and Marketing), Megan Manata ’14(Entrepreneurial Studies), and Joanne Corniola ’14 (Entrepreneurial Studies and Business Administration) placed third in the Small Business Institute Consulting Project of the Year undergraduate competition.
Christianna Barnard ‘15 (Sacred Music) will present her paper “The High School Mixtape Project: Using Public Musicology to Explore Evolving Identities” at the Exhibiting Music conference in Nova Scotia this month.
Vinroy Brown ’15 (Sacred Music) conducted the Trenton Children’s Chorus, Robert Colby-Witanek ’16 (Piano Performance) performed in Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall.
Colleen Roberts ’14 (Musical Theatre) performed in the national tour of Beauty and the Beast and Carolina Sanchez ’14 (Musical Theatre) performed in the off-Broadway musical Iowa.
Alan Schlichting ’16 (Music Theory and Composition) won the Catherine R. and Anthony A. Clifton Foundation Emerging Artists Award. As part of this award, his composition “Illusions” was performed live at The Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater in Philadelphia on May 13th. Yannick Nézet Séguin surprised him with a special visit.
Anne Marie Stanley ’15 (Voice Performance) won the Philadelphia Orchestra Greenfield Competition and will sing with the orchestra next season.
Josephine Boyle ’15 (Global Studies) co-authored a paper with Frank Rusciano and Michael Brogan (Political Science) in the Proceedings of the American Association for Public Opinion Research, 2015.
Rachel Shari Safer ’16 (Criminal Justice) co-authored a paper with James Castagnera, Associate Provost, in Homeland Security Review, 2015.
